Our Society has been dormant for a while following the sad loss of Maurice Bent our founder and Chair.

We are now in the process of re-establishing the society centred around two key themes:

  1. Funding a bursary for local Forest of Dean musicians under the age of 25 to support a formal musical education and or personal development.

  2. Promoting the Life and works of Herbert Howells.

Our Society aims:

For the Promotion of the knowledge and appreciation of the works of Herbert Howells. Encouraging young musicians in the Forest Of Dean by way of bursaries. Organising concerts and talks and providing a trophy for the Cheltenham competitive (Music) Festival.

Please note The Society takes no responsibility for the external websites or their content
